Scotch Plains Town Museum is open for October events!

Six ladies dressed in 18th and 19th century fashions in the kitchen of the Osborn Cannonball House MuseumThe Osborn Cannonball House Museum will be open to the public on Sunday, October 4, 2026 during the Town’s “Scotch Plains Day” celebration from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Activities include demonstrations of traditional 18th century crafts and tours of the c. 1755 home conducted by costumed docents.

On Saturday, October 17, 2026 and Sunday, October 18, 2026, the Museum will also be open for Union County’s Four Centuries in a Weekend event from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. In honor of our country’s 250th anniversary, the museum will feature a display of colonial-era clothing. You can also explore the history and techniques of gravestone carving. Watch a live 18th century stone-carving demonstration by a master gravestone cutter.

For Four Centuries in a Weekend, there will also be a children’s craft and an early Halloween treat for kids!

The Osborn Cannonball House is located at 1840 Front Street in Scotch Plains, New Jersey and is steeped in Revolutionary War history. Come hear the story of the Osborn family and their sons who fought for our freedom in the American Revolution.

The museum is free to the public and open for tours on the first Sunday of each month (except January and February) and by appointment by calling (908) 322-6700, Ext. 230.
